       The word "probiotic" comes from the Latin preposition pro (for, in favor) and the Greek adjective „biotico“, which comes from the word bios - life. Literally translated - for the benefit of life, for life. According to the official definition of the World Health Organization (WHO), probiotics are "living microorganisms that, if given in appropriate quantities, contribute to better health of people who use them."
