Project Aim
The use of antimicrobial drugs in animals, including the non-therapeutic use of antibiotics, leads to the multiplication and excretion of significant amounts of antimicrobial resistant bacteria - both as pathogens that can directly and indirectly infect humans and as drugs that can carry transmissible determinants of resistance across species boundaries and reach humans through multiple transfer ways.
The ban on food antimicrobial agents has drawn a lot of attention to the use of probiotics to produce safe food and protect consumers' health. With the appearance of new antibiotic resistance strains, probiotic strains are gaining popularity in both medical and livestock sectors.
There is no structured curriculum on the issues discussed that will lead to an awareness of the need for decisive action in the direction of health, of both animals and consumers.
The main objective of the project is the successful transfer of educational know-how, presented through good practices, which will improve the knowledge, skills and competence of the people responsible for organizing and delivering educational services within the agricultural sector. The project targets are administrative officials, scientists, researchers and supervisory staff responsible for setting up and delivering professional training to farmers, agricultural advisers, high school teachers, and people in close contact with animals as workers on the farm, slaughterhouses, feed manufacturers and feed additives, animal breeders associations. The main beneficiaries of the project are the people responsible for the creation of training, training plans, training programs / curriculum, receiving funds and search for new methods of training.
The second objective of the project is to create a network for mutual contact between scientists and staff of partner institutions. The network will provide a seamless flow of information, ideas and inspiration between project partners, as well as potential new members joining multilateral teamwork and will be the basis for future collaborative work on projects and exchange of scientists.
The direct target group / staff members of the partner organizations / of project is not large in number, but the activity of these people has a huge impact on the whole livestock sector.
As a final result, the recipients of the education services / indirect target group - farmers, veterinarians, agricultural advisers, high school teachers / receive knowledge that meets their needs and expectations.
The curriculum and online e-learning platform will provide two training methods - synchronous and asynchronous. There will also be a two-level mobile application for trainers and trainees. The curriculum structure and curriculum content will be innovative and will provide competences to both project participants and the indirect target group.
